NYC Department Store Windows for Christmas - Ready, Set, Go

Lord & Taylor jumped the gun by unveiling their 2014 holiday window display today. Saks and Bloomies are scheduled to unveil theirs on November 24th, with other major merchants also expected by that date. So, anyone interested, get your wallet ready for shopping and a nice warm coat for standing on line to see the windows.

Best viewing is either early am - before 8 am or after the stores close - a moving target from 10 pm until midnight or later once we hit Thanksgiving.

For the complete picture wait until the tree is unveiled at Rock Center and see the skaters, all of the wonderful decorations there and then cross the street to visit St Pat's.

Happy holidays!

I will be there 12/6 - 12/8. I'm so excited. I was there once before during the Christmas season. It really is magical.

Walked by L&T yesterday afternoon, after visiting the extremely disappointing Holiday Fair in Bryant Park. The windows are well done, especially the Hogwartish animal portraits and best of all -- no lines, no crowds.

The Christmas tree in the NY Public Library is cleverly decorated and worth a stop.

Been there once before at Christmas time and loved it - going back after Christmas this year and looking forward to it!

Oh I'm so homesick for NYC. When I was a kid we always went to Best and Company to buy my Christmas dress and then visit Santa at Macy's and spend the rest of the night looking at the windows.

Bergdorf's is usually my top choice for holiday windows, but last Wednesday I got a look and found them rather disappointing this year.
