NYC- Waterfront Greenway

I was reading an article about this 32 mile biking/walking path in the New Yorker this week. Does anybody have any recommendations for particularly interesting or scenic portions? Do you think it woill be too cold next week to walk on it becuase it's near the water?

I have been to NYC umpteen times but have never been on this path.

Also, has anybody seen Pal Joey yet? I got a really cheap ticket for next week; some of my favorite music is in this show.

Next week is supposed to be cold - with a high in the 30's several days -and walking along the water will be chilly, damp and usually quite windy. OK if you're dressed properly and used to it. Not - if you're not.

We saw Pal Joey a couple weeks ago and were disappointed, We felt that the leading man, who since then was injured and has been replaced, was not up the the demands of the role. His understudy has taken over the role.
We're fans of Stockard Channing, but weren't overly impressed with her performance.
On the other side of the coin, Martha Plimpton was magnificent.
Overall, of course, the music is marvelous, but the show's book is not that great!

"Greenway" is a bit, well, optimistic. Much of the path is far from green.

The best places to walk in my opinion are downtown, especially in Battery Park City for views of the Statue of Liberty. But there are also some nice stretches in the Village, especially a few of the parks on piers. But I think Gekko's warning about the lack of "green" is well-taken. It's a fairly good path that is not consistently done well.

Either way, it will be pretty cold, especially far downtown on the Battery.
