How about the Museum of Natural History, or if she likes art, the Met, or MOMA. If she's more the active type ice skating in Central Park or Bryant Park.
WHat kind of food does she like? What comes to mind is Virgil's (bbq), Ollie's (chinese), John's (pizza), Dervish (turkish), Cascina (Italian). There are many, many more.
What is she into? My 11yo DD hates MOMA (we love it) and the same for most museums. Chinatown is lots of fun and so is SoHo. Even though SoHo is shopping it is a totally different experience than 5th Ave.
