Going to see Jersey Boys in NYC this weekend, and looking for a restaurant recommendation in the area of the August Wilson Theater at 245 West 52nd. Would like to go someplace "reasonable" but fairly nice.
Maybe in the range of $50 per person, not counting drinks. We like Italian, Bistro-style French, Spanish. Thanks for any help.

Trip Ideas
Jersey Boys was great. You're going to love it.
There are about a zillion places in a one-mile radius of the theater, but the last time we were there, the couple we were with wanted to go to Sangria 46, which is on Restaurant Row on 46th. I was a little put off, figuring it was a tourist trap for theater-goers, but we ended up liking it. Good service and better-than-expected food.
They have a tapas menu, which appealed to us, and I think it fits your budget. Try the baby artichokes.
One minus: The other couple ordered the sangria, and I tried it and wasn't crazy about it. It seemed watery to me, but maybe it was just me.
At the corner of 50th and 9th is Roberto Passon, a small Italian favorite of many here (myself included). You'd be hard pressed to spend that much -- but better food than many places that would cost you more than that.

Vice Versa on 51st between 8th and 9th is very good too -- closer to your stated price.

More upscale in appearance and very good food is Thalia at the corner of 50th and 8th.

I have to second all of Neopatrick's recommendations. These are all my favorite restaurants in the neighborhood; in fact, I'm going to Viceversa this Saturday.
You do need to make reservations for these places, so try to call today.
Thanks for your suggestions!
Remi is my favorite Italian in that neighborhood.
I third Neo & Doug's recommendations
...Enjoy & report back what you decided please.
I join in with NeoPatrick as to Roberto Passon. Dined there twice and loved it each time. Did not fall in love with Vice Versa. Service and ambience were superb, but not my scallops or husband's veal. But, we could have ordered the wrong stuff..

Liked Vice Versa better than Roberto Passon!
remi is good, but my favorite italian in new york is nocello, on 55th and 8th. or la vineria on 55th between 5th and 6th.
Carmine's
calle ocha has great latin cuisine in a fun happening atmosphere.
