If your travel agent suggested Lake Louise in November, you may want to get another travel agent :^). The Banff region is one of the most beautiful regions I've ever visited, but November will be cold and (most likely) snowy. If you like ski areas and mountains with lot of snow, Banff will be nice. But I would consider some places in Louisiana (for fishing), Georgia mountains (hiking), or Florida (beautiful beaches).

We love the Chiricahua Natl. Park near Bisbee AZ. It is incredible-these very intense volcanic formations and great hiking. Bisbee is really cute about 40 miles away-like Sedona in the old days-little art studios and shops.
I assume November is still okay-but the park is somewhat high-so you might want to check the National Park service to find out weather that time of year-but it is not to be missed-one of the most beautiful parks we have seen
have fun
