My wife & I have ordered a Casita trailer to be picked up in late September. For the next few years before I retire, we will be weekend trailer campers. I would love to know about your favorite camping/rv sites. We live in Sonoma County so are aware of State parks along the coast. Anyone experienced with campgrounds in the Gold Country, the Delta, etc?

Because i went alot of places "solo'
I used KOA because I felt safe and facilities were always clean...
Question--how far up the coast are you familiar with campgrounds???
Good luck..
There are several on Hwy 4 that we like.
Calaveras Big Trees State Park near Arnold, CA is one of our favorite places to camp. No hook ups, but they do have showers.
Wa Ka Luu Hep Yoo (Wild River) is near Dorrington in the Stanislaus National Forest. This is a fairly new campground right on the Stanislaus River. No hook ups and no showers.
We also like Big Meadows and Lake Alpine campgrounds. No hook ups and no showers.

Thanks so much for the feedback. We are aware of the obvious coast campgrounds (e.g., Patrick's Point, Redwood Nat'l Park), but don't know much about inland parks. Anyone else have favorites?
