We're going to Minnesota's North Shore in September and would like some hotel advice. We've narrowed it down to the Best Western Superior in Grand Marais and the Best Western Cliff Dweller in Lutsen. The Cliff Dweller looks really cool on the web site (and it's about $50 cheaper than the Superior). Any thoughts?
(We're also spending one night in Tettegouche State Park and one night at the Two Harbors Lighthouse, just for variety.)

We travel in this area a lot and I would definitely recommend the Best WEstern in Grand Marais. It is walking distance from downtown and on the lake. The Cliff Dweller might be nice (haven't been there in years) but there is nothing to do out there - no shops, nothing and it is right on the highway. The GM Best Western is not far off the highway but not right on the highway and in and area where people tend to be going slower as they have just gone by the town's only stop light. We like the GM Best WEstern a lot - I think you will too. GM is a great little town with several restaurants and little shops and lots of art. Enjoy your trip!!
