North Hampton, S. Deerfield and Greenfield MA, how far apart?

we are attending a wedding where the church is in Greenfield MA, the rehearsal dinner in S. Deerfield (at a restaurant in/near the yankee candle complex) and then the next day the reception is in North hampton.

we are driving up from NYC 'burbs and staying at an inn in Northhampton. how far apart are all these venues?

Looks really close to me. Deerfield is about 10 miles north of Northampton, and Greenfield is another 9 miles north. All three towns are along I-91 and none of them very busy or big places.

I don't know anything about Greenfield or S. Deerfield. But my daughter goes to school in Amherst and I've been to Northampton several times. As long as you stay on 91, you shouldn't have any trouble with traffic. But in the Northampton, Hadley, Amherst area, traffic on surface streets can be quite heavy. It's a really nice area, by the way.

HI ediegirl,

It's about a 20 minute ride straight up I-91 from Northampton to S. Deerfield (I think that's exit 24 to YCC) and about 30-35 minutes from Northampton to Greenfield (same road just keep going north) so from Greenfield to S. Deerfield is 10-15 minutes.

The time of year makes a difference on these times however. When is the wedding?

the wedding is the end of the month, and we'll have an automatic designated driver for all events (i'm pregnant) so it's not too big a deal.

i would love if the store(s) aspect of Yankee Candle were open when we got to the dinner. no other way i'll get dh to stop there.

thanks everyone.

HI ediegirl,

There shouldn't be traffic issues at the end of the month, but being from the NYC area, I'm sure you'd find our traffic comical.

I hope you have time to at least stroll around Northampton. It's a great city.

Have fun!
