No. CA & So. OR coast trip
My husband and I are planning a trip from SF to southern OR in March 2003. Specifically, we're interested in the Redwood area (Trinidad) and the southern Oregon coast area. Has anyone stayed at the Myers Country Inn at the Avenue of the Giants? Lost Whale Inn or Turtle Rocks Oceanfront Inn (Trinidad, CA)? Lighthouse B&B (Bandon, OR), Inn at Nesika Beach (Gold Beach, OR) and the Tu Tu Tun Lodge (Gold Beach/Rogue River area in OR)
Any suggestions on other places to stay, restaurants and things that are "must see or do."

Hi! There is a place that my husband and I are dying to stay at. It is at Point Arena, and you stay in one of the lighthouse keepers cottages out on the point (with the lighthouse). If you do a search for lighthouses you can stay at...it should come up. Also, you could do a search for Point Arena lodging. It's not cheap ($175/night), but what a view.

The poster asked about "Lost Whale Inn or Turtle Rocks Oceanfront Inn (Trinidad, CA)? Lighthouse B&B (Bandon, OR), Inn at Nesika Beach (Gold Beach, OR) and the Tu Tu Tun Lodge (Gold Beach/Rogue River area in OR" I have stayed in all of the above lodgings. In Trinidad I prefered the Lost Whale and would definately recommend them. Inn at Nesika Beach had a great room and good quiet location but I didn't like having to have a mass breakfast at one table with a dozen strangers. I prefer B&Bs that let you have breakfast at a time you choose or have seperate tables so you are not stuck for a very long meal with what is sometimes very boring long winded or crass people. TuTuTun is great...very well known, right on the river.

Forgot to mention Lighthouse B&B in Bandon. Good location on the river right across from the lighthouse and near the ocean too. Nicer inside than it looks like from the outside. We stayed there on Dec. when we were the only guests and I still recall how nice it was to sit in the common room with all the windows at night with the lighthouse lighted in Christmas lights and listen to Christmas music on the CD system.
