N.J. (Clark) train or bus to NYC?
We will be spending a few days in Clark, N.J. before flying to Toronto and then back for a 5 day stay in NYC.
We will have a rental car in Clark, but I do not want to drive to NYC. If we were to take a train or bus to NYC, which would be better and why? Where is the most direct station from the Crown Plaza where we can leave the car? Where do they terminate? Approx. how long is the trip? Would there be a problem with seeing a show and returning late?

Right on the hotel's own website it says they're 2 miles from the Rahway train station for service to NYC.

Go to njtransit.com to get the train schedule. There should also be info on whether the Rahway station has parking for non residents. If not, you might just take a taxi to/from the station. Just find out how late taxis wait or whether you'll need to phone for your return.
Most shows get out between 10-10:30 except on Tues. & Sun. when some shows have early performances at 7 so would get out an hour earlier. If you know which one you'll see, you can check on playbill.com for the length of the show.
