nice places for families
We are going to Ft. Lauderdale in Jan. and would like to know if anyone stayed at the Marriot Towers or Lago Mar. They are pricey and we wanted to know if they're worth it as far as activities, etc. Thanks!

Do you mean Marriott Beach Place Towers? The timeshare property? If so, then I prefer Lago Mar b/c it is right on the beach whereas MBPT is across the road from the beach. Another reason I do not like MBPT is that the condos are located above shops & restaurants but interestingly, this is why some people like it! You might!
Lago Mar is great for kids (any age!!)). 2 pools, mini putt, swings, slides (playground stuff to hang from!!!), beautiful beach for walking/swimming (may be chilly in Jan though!).
There is quite a range of varriance in the "room decor" @ LM so ask if this is impt. to you. I stay there for the beachfront location: 2 BR direct oceanfront suite but the decor is a bit "tired" unless it has been renovated recently. Last time we were there our friends had a unit in the newer building. Look @ www.lagomar.com....it is the building to the far left. While it was much nicer than ours in terms of decor, I did not like the location overlooking the pool. So decide what is impt to you & ask reservations for the "perfect spot"!!
