Nice efficient route through Vermont and New Hampshire

Jump to last reply

I am taking a trip this summer from western New York to New Brunswick, Canada. Google is taking me down the I-90 toward Boston, but I'd rather take a more scenic less busy route if it doesn't add more than an hour or two of driving. I would stay on the I90 until Albany, and branch off from there.

I-87/Rutland/I-91/Gorham looks like a possible route, but I really don't know anything about it. Can someone suggest an efficient but scenic drive through Vermont and New Hampshire? If there are two nice routes I can take the other on the way home.
