Newport, RI Beachfront Resort?

My husband and I are considering Newport, RI for a few days in July on vacation. We are wondering if Newport has any beachfront resorts? Something with an outdoor pool? We would like to be fairly close to town as well. And feedback is appreciated, thank you!

Let's see..
In Newport, right on Thames Street is the Marriott, right on the water (not beach) also on Goat Island is the Hyatt, right on the water(actually on an island...there are several others as well. (Check out "gonewport.com)
If you want a swimming beach, you won't get that in downtown Newport.
Most scenic would be Castle Hill- swimming beach very small nearby but no pool.
If you asked me to pick and money is no object, I would pick the Hyatt on Goat Island. The hotel was just refurbished 2 years ago..the outdoor pool is great....and it is right on the water(not beach, tho)

The Newport Beach Hotel and Suites is right across the street from the beach. It has an indoor pool, and an outdoor rooftop hot tub.

The place has 2 buildings. An older but recently renovated main building with regular hotel type room and a newer building across the street with larger suite type rooms.
Pretty nice place, but I was also there in off season and didn't have to deal with July rates!
