Newport News, VA to Emerald Isle, NC

After visiting friends in Newport News, VA we will drive to Emerald Isle, NC. Can anyone suggest a good breakfast stop along the way on Rt. 17/13? Also, once in Emerald Isle need suggestions for a great seafood dinner. All suggestions are appreciated.
