Newport: Has the Cliff Walk been repaired?
We visited last year in December & saw some of the Hurricane Sandy damage along the Cliff Walk. You couldn't walk too far before the Walk was blocked off. Has any of this been reopened? We're thinking about heading back again this year & we are hoping to take a nice, long walk. Thanks in advance for any feedback you can offer.

We were in Newport in mid-October and the entire Cliff Walk was open although we did not have time to do it all. Here's a link to some reviews on TA by some people who have recently walked it all so that you have an idea of what to expect:

Walked the full length (it's only a little over three miles) in late August. The only demanding stretch is about a half-mile from the Bellevue Avenue and, where you will have to clamber over and around some boulders for a while. If you think you might be tired after the two-plus miles from the First Beach end, you might want to start your walk at Bellevue.

The bad news is that the City of Newport is putting in parking meters along most of the blocks next to the Cliff Walk. They are the kind where you pay at a machine and put the paper receipt on you dashboard.
The machines are not intuitive and the screens are hard to read in the bright sun, so there were long lines on Columbus Day weekend. They seem to be starting at the end nearest Memorial Drive.
