Any thoughts on parking near the Marriott that's reasonable. It's our anniversary, any recommendation for a special dinner?

Do you mean parking during your stay? And I assume you don't want to pay to park at the hotel? Well, there are a few spaces on the roads near the hotel but competition is fierce. If you don't mind walking 5 mins you can park in the local neighborhood until 1 May when the residential sticker requirement kicks in and prohibits nightime parking by anyone but residents. Other than that I guess the hotel's spaces (extra $ I assume) are the way to go.
For special occasions, recommended in the past by other posters have been White Horse Tavern (close to Marriott), Castle Hill Inn, West Deck, & Restaurant Bouchard. I have been to 3 of the 4 and any would suit. Maybe not quite so fancy but very nice and very good is the Cheeky Monkey.
Have fun--
Krista,
Thank you very much!
Dear 147747,
Just got back from Newport. Stayed at the Newport Marriott. Super! Parking is free if you are a guest. Next door is the visitor's center. They have parking. Don't know how much. Ate dinner one night at the Castle Hill Inn. Excellent but pricey. Well worth it if it's for a special occassion. Everyone was dressed.
Also ate at some of the suggested places such as Scales and Shells. Very casual, but excellent food.
Enjoy!
