Newark to UWS with 4 people

There will be 4 of us w/ just carry-ons getting in to Newark at about 6:30pm and would like to get to our hotel on the Upper West side in a reasonable amount of time with little hassle and not an extraordinary expense. What is/are our best options? If a limo company can you give me some names?

Carmel car company or take a cab.

I use Carmel all the time (#212-777-7777).

Depending on how much the cab costs, it might be your best bet. The public transportation is pretty easy and quick (25 minutes and $10 from the airport to Penn Station via NJ Transit, and then a quick hop on the 1, 2, or 3 trains from Penn Station to your hotel), but with four people, all told that would cost $50. If you can get a cab that doesn't cost much more than that, it would be a good, and compeltely hassle-free choice. If they're going to charge you $100, I'd say to take the public transportation.

Actually Dial 7 is 212-777-7777, not Carmel.

Book online if that's easier:

A car service like Dial 7 is better than a taxi from EWR ... and generally less expensive, particularly to a distant Manhattan destination like the UWS.

A car service is a better option than a taxi unless they try to force you to take a minivan with 4 people. (A taxi should take 4 and small luggage).

carmellimo.com (don't forget the $4 off coupon on the website and tell them you're using it)

A car from Carmel (666-6666) is $43. Toll is $6. Add in a tip and the total cost would be close to $60. If you decide to use a car service reserve in advance.

Any other means of transport is going to cost almost as much for four people.
