Newark Airport to Penn Station

Hi
I need you advice, folks...
In coming February, I will be landing in Newark at 17:00 and need to catch a train from Penn Station in Manhattan at 20:00.
Do you think that this schedule is risky (it'll be in Februarty, flights may be in delay etc.)?
What is the fastest way to get from Newark International Airport to Penn Station in Manhattan? how much would it cost?
Many thanks!
Alain

You can take the AirTrain at Newark into Penn Station. I think it operates from 5:00AM 'til 2:00AM. I don't know the rate. There's also Olympia Airport Express that operates from 4:00AM 'til 11:00PM. They charge $12.00. Newark Airport has a website with information.

You can now catch a train right into NYC/Penn Station from Newark Airport via the new airport monorail known as "Airlink." I used it recently and loved it!

The train ride takes 1/2 hour. You have plenty of time. If it was me, I would not be concerned about missing my connection.

Without a doubt your best bet is the AirTrain service right into Penn Station. Just take the airport tram to the train station (last stop on the tram line), purchase a ticket from a machine and hop on the train. You wil have one brief stop at Newark Penn Station, then arrive at New York Penn Station. Info at http://www.portnynj.com/airtrainnewark/

You should have plenty of time, but in the event you are running excessively late ... what direction is your scheduled train? If it is southbound, it might pass, if not stop at the EWR stop. Or you may be able to take a train south from EWR to a station that your scheduled train also stops at - Metropark & Trenton immediately come to mind.
