New York Yankee Station
We plan to be in New York near end of September and I see Toronto bluejays will be there at that time. Is it possible to get tickets the day of the game? Also, how difficult is it to get to stadium if you are staying around Times Square?

You may find tickets already sold out - I would check today. Or the only tickets left may be really awful seats - and you may have to go to a reseller - such as stubhub - to find any decent seats.
Grabbing the subway back and forth will be easy and the trains will be crowded.
But tickets on Jeter's last weekend - organize them NOW.

My husband and sons are flying into NYC specifically to go to one of Jeter's last games. They have been planning this for a while now... I would not wait on tickets - I would be surprised if there are still tickets...
It is great fun to go to a game at Yankee Stadium. I hope you get to go!

While everyone else is talking about whether you can get tickets, I address how to get there from the Times Square area.
1) Take the 42nd St Shuttle (S train) at 42nd St-Broadway/7th Av to Grand Central Station (1 stop), walk down the long corridor and take an UPTOWN 4 train to 161st St-Yankee Stadium.
2) - Alternate method
- Take an UPTOWN N or R train (also Q train if it is going to Ditmars-Astoria) at 42nd St-Broadway/7th Av or 49th St-7th Av to Lexington Avenue-59th St. Go downstairs for an UPTOWN 4 train to 161st St-Yankee Stadium.

The last home game at the stadium is Sept 25th and the Yankees are sold out. And it doesn't look like they will be in the playoffs this year.
It notes that stub hub - official reseller with tickets priced at what the market will bear - but for something like this typically way above face value - has about 500 tickets out of the tens of thousand of seats.
Expect good seats to be at least $500 each and up - depending on what you consider good.

Plambers, I had no idea you lived in Charlotte, or more likely I probably knew at one time and forgot, as seems to happen a lot lately!!!
"Will see what I can do," is the news I received about those tickets (incidentally, from a New Yorker who now spends a lot of time in Wilmington, NC!!) So who knows. Something may turn up.
One of these days I will pass through Charlotte and we can sit down over some good food!!
