My husband and I are planning on going to NYC for our 7th anniversary. We're going from May 18-21. Here is what I have tentatively planned and I'm hoping for suggestions or opinions to the alternative.

Friday May 18
Arrive ~10:30am LGA
(I plan on taking the super shuttle but it seems to have been met with disapproval from several foddies. Is the super shuttle that terrible? The NYC 2007 Fodor's book seems to recommend it. Advice?)
Check in to Roosevelt Hotel
Need a good lunch venue (suggestions? dying for some good NY style pizza)
Check out the MET and MOMA (I realize that a lot of time can be spent at both museums but I plan on hitting just the main exhibits of interest)
Dinner suggestions in the $$ range?

Saturday May 19
Ellis Island/Statue of Liberty (booked tix in advance)
Visit Ground zero and maybe Wall Street
Dinner 8pm at Dock's (I heard via a friend that this had excellent seafood, any good? This will be our anniversary dinner)
After dinner, check out Empire State Bldg.

Sunday May 20
Explore Chinatown/Chelsea Market.
Dim Sum at Jing Fong (I heard this was the most authentic)
Dinner (Suggestions? around that area)

Monday May 21
Looking for a good breakfast place in mid-town before getting to the airport.

The problem with the SuperShuttle is that you might be driven all over town dropping off other passengers before you finally reach your destination. And two tickets might cost not much less than a taxi.

Since you are staying so close to Grand Central, the airport express bus might be an option--it stops just across the street from GCT. But again, two tickets might come very close to the cost of two people in one taxi that takes you directly to your hotel.

Not sure if ou are aware that Chelsea Market is a few miles from Chinatown. . .

The last I knew SuperShuttle cost $15 per person from LGA to midtown. You can get a taxi you don't have to share and go in cirles for that amount.

Which Docks are you going to? I assume the one near the Roosevelt? I've read reviews and nothing sounds very exciting about them. We went by the one on the upper West side, crowded, very noisy and seemed like a glorified Red Lobster. Maybe that was a false impression?

I'm not a big fan of Supershuttle because you never know if a trip will take you 30 minutes or 2 hours. They do some strange routing sometimes, not dropping off people in a geographically logical way. Some friends, when traveling solo, still find it a credible option since the airport buses go only to midtown, and Supershuttle is door to door9at least in Manhattan).
By the way, if there is more than one person traveling to the same destination, they generally charge less than twice the one person amount (e.g. not 2 X $15, but maybe $22 for 2).
Still taxi fare is not that much more so I would opt for that.

Docks is not a great seafood restaurant. The food is average at best and that goes for the East side and the West side restaurants. I would check out the NYC Zagats for great seafood restaurants.
