Now every one has to ask about "sexual orientation" apparently. You cant just go to a bar to have a cosmo without bothering with other people's sexual orientation.
Is that a question that will appear on the census some day?
I try to avoid people and crowds, and dont want to meat or meet or hook up with anyone. Just want to sit back and have a cold one without anyone bugging me.

The bars in our neighborhood seemed to divided by some demographic, sexual orientation was just one of the questions. But after reading your post, I will add misanthropy.
There are at least 16 bars within three blocks of us, and equal amount within 6 or 7 blocks and the most popular seem to be the barely legal to 25, and 25 to 30. And then there are the gay bars, theme bars like Otto's Shrunken Head, old rummy bars where guys have been sitting in the same stool for thirty years, and sports bars.
So, I thought I would ask.

POMAH, how funny that you didn't focus on the age group or the atmosphere, which both should have been equally unimportant to you. What made you get off on the sexual orientation thing of the three things mentioned?
But one thing is clear. Maybe the OP should have simply asked for a place to go where she wouldn't be confronted by curmudgeons like you.

The OP made it clear thaf s/he WANTS to meet people. "what type of people" is a reasonable question. ...artists, young professionals, college students? The building we lived in was across the street from a hospital, and the bar on our block was called The Recovery Room. If you didnt want to hear some pretty gruesome stories you didnt go there.... Location matters.

Adu: Never realized you were such an authority on bars and lounges. Aren't you a little out of the demographic?
________
I am out of everyone's demographic. I am an expert from tripping over bodies outside of the bars. Actually, I do not drink. The weekend in our neighborhood starts Thursday night and runs right through the small hours of Sunday morning.
