New Year's Eve in Newark

We will be arriving from Italy to JFK at 7 pm Dec 31 and leave from Newark Jan 1 at 9 am. Any suggestions on what hotel to stay in that might have a New year's eve party and is close to the Newark airport?

You might want to check with the Airport Hilton to see if they have any New Years' packages/rooms for the night. They probably should. They have shuttles to/from the airport.

Not far from the airport but in a "nicer" area, is Maize 50 Park Pl (Robert Treat Hotel) Newark , NJ 07102 Phone: (973) 639-1200 - it is opposite the Performing Art Center--I checked their web site (NJ PAC) but nothing is listed for New Years. MAIZE is wonderful, and will have a special evening planned, I am sure. The hotel is top notch.

My suggestion would be a nice room service dinner with a big ole' bottle of champagne!

Last time I stayed at EWR Airport Hilton, they had scheduled shuttle to NEWARK Penn Station. You'll probably prefer to taxi (or car service) from JFK to EWR, but if you do have to use other transportation, such as NYAirportService, you could simply take NJT train from NYC Penn Station to NEWARK Penn station, then use the hotel shuttle, if it's still offered. It's a nice, quiet hotel with a decent, but not great restaurant.
