I think it's connected to the run but each time I try to google it, it gives me all the club things. Does anyone know about it? Also, where's the best spot to watch the fireworks on NY's eve and would anyone recommend a nice restaurant, maybe with views of Central Park besides Tavern on the Green?
We'll be going to St John the Devine at 7:30 and want to stay in the area for the fireworks later on (or I guess in the Central Park area).
Thanks!
New Year's Eve Central Park free party and fireworks.

Not sure what you mean by "nice". If you give a budget and what cuisines you like people can make specific recos. (The upper west side is awash with inexpensive and moderately priced places of every possible ethnicity.)
Thanks nytraveler.
Nothing too fancy but maybe something with a nice/romatic(ish) atmosphere. We like all sorts of food but was thinking either seafood, italian, indian, sushi? Maybe not chinese. Preferably nothing with a set menu that we can just order a la carte and the price isn't inflated just because it's NYE.
Many thanks!
Most places will have a set price menu for NYE. There's no restaurant that has a decent view of Central Park except the Boat House in Central Park and at night, you can't see much. Have a look at the upper west side on menupages.com for some ideas. The nicest places will definitely have prix fixe menus unless you go early and even then....
As for best views of the fireworks, near Tavern on the Green. http://www.centralpark.com/news/45/fireworks-in-central-park-new-year-s-eve
I've just given you a restaurant suggestion in your other thread near St. John the Divine. If you want to be closer to the fireworks, try Pasha for Turkish. http://www.menupages.com/restaurants/pasha/
They may have a prix fixe for NYE though.
Thanks. The problem w/ pre fixe is that we don't eat that much so it ends up being way too much food for us and the prices will already be inflated for that evening so am trying to avoid that. Thanks though. Will check out the restaurant but the cafe and wine bar you posted looked good!
