5 night stay over Thanksgiving at the New Otani. the only posts for this hotel date back to 2006. We have booked a superior Waikiki Ocean remodeled room. Anyone stayed there recently. Love being on the ocean with a view of skyline of Waikiki and away from the crowds.. Had Thanksgiving dinner at the Hua Tree a few years back and enjoyed the fish for Thanksgiving dinner. Good rate including united flight....OPINIONS?....

I haven't stayed there recently (or ever, it's above my price range) but as you mention have gone to their bar/restaurant when I'm in Waikiki. I think it looks like a great hotel in a wonderful location. No pool is the only drawback.
Haven't stay there in quite awhile so I can't comment on it's current state. Lack of pool was of no concern as one of the best swimming beaches on Oahu is right in front of the hotel. Many locals training for triathalons, and other water activities can be found swimming "laps" there.
