New Orleans Streetcar to Commander's

Hi everyone. A friend and I are going to Commander's Palace for the Jazz Brunch in October. We are planning on taking the streetcar from Canal @ St. Charles to Washington Street. Does anyone know how long this takes? Our reservation is for 11:30am, and I don't want to show up late. Any advice would be great. Thanks!

Get on the streetcar by 10:45am. It may only take 10-15 minutes but you also have to walk a few blocks once you get to Washington.

Enjoy and please give us a "meal report" when you get back!

If you get there early, there is a very interesting old cemetery across the street from Commander's that you can wander around.

I was at Commander's in July for the Sunday brunch and the cemetary across the street had the gates closed. However, Commander's has a nice map of the area if you want to take a walking tour before or after the meal. So if you wanted to get there before 11.30 and play safe, you can walk in a grab the map by the door. Enjoy!

My husband and I ate at Commander's on Sept. 5 for the jazz brunch. Our reservations were for 11a. We took at taxi because the streetcar doesn't have air conditioning and it also didn't seem to come by the stop on Canal very regularly. The time it takes also depends upon how many stops it has to make along the way. Also, the preceding reply was correct in that the cemetery is closed on Sunday. My husband and I wanted to see it but were unable to. Hope you have a great time!
