New Orleans - Safe hotel area (but not French Quarter)

Jump to last reply

I need to travel to New Orleans to conduct some research at the New Orleans Public Library on Loyola. I'm debating flying versus driving (from Houston). If I fly, I will stay in the French Quarter, but if I drive, I was wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a good area to stay in where my car will be safe and hotel prices will hopefully be more reasonable than the French Quarter.

Thanks in advance.
