I never would have guessed the NO would rank so high for a mid-summer holiday, but I think that is terrific.
We'll be in Gulfport for the 4th this year, but maybe we should scoot on over to NoLa for the day!
november_moon, I think it's because of Essence Fest, which draws a lot of people and fills the activity calendar with plenty of air conditioned (Superdome/Convention Center) activities.
