The last time I was in New Orleans was before Katrina. There has been much cleanup and rebuilding. Is it still worth while to take a tour? If you have been on a tour the past few months, were you glad you took it? If so, can you recommend a tour company?
Thanks, Steve

I drove around the city a few months after Katrina and viewed the damage from my car. It was devasting. A lot has changed since then but I'm sure the tours will show you a lot that I would not know about. I think it's a good tour. Tours by Isabelle is a reputable company.
There are still parts of the city that have not been rebuilt. I have not been on a tour (I am from New Orleans, so I drive around a lot when I'm there), but I have heard from many that the tour is still very worthwhile.
In 2010, we took a drive through the area with some friends who know the area well. It was very worthwhile - seeing both the devastation and the rebuilding process. I was afraid we would be invading the residents' privacy, but frankly, there were so few people there it wasn't a problem.
