We are planning a trip to New Orleans with some friends. For sentimental reasons they would like to stay at a property once known as the Grand Sonesta. Although I have found the Royal Sonesta, I have not located the Grand Sonesta so assume that the property has changed its name. Can anyone tell me the current name of the former Grand Sonesta? Thanks!

Why not show or e-mail Royal Sonesta website link? They should be able to recognize the building.
Sonesta is a chain, just like HI, Hilton, Marriott, etc. and that's the only Sonesta in NO, located at 300 Bourbon Street. It should not be that difficult to figure it out. It either is the same place or they moved and changed their name to Royal.
Just a suggestion.
We've been going to NO for decades but I've never heard of a Grand Sonesta. The Royal Sonesta? Yes, and it's lovely, but not the Grand Sonesta.
Royal Sonesta. Royal Orleans used to be a Sonesta Hotel as well. DH got his carrier start at the RO, then RS. There is another Sonesta in town now, but these two were the originals.
Career not carrier! That was 45 years ago too, so we go way back! I think the Royal Orleans has become an Omni now.
