New Orleans Hotel

Hi
Traveling to New Orleans this October with friends (all couples). Haven't been since in my 20's and the Royal Sonesta was the place to stay. Looking for an upscale hotel in a good location- in or close to French quarter, etc. What would be the top 6 hotels? Really looking to enjoy all the amazing restaurants, music, culture, etc...and enjoy a fun weekend down south.

Price??

We stayed at Omni Royal Orleans last November and although we had a small room, it was in a really good FQ location.

The Monteleone is also lovely but pricier.

Aside from Omni RO and Monteleone any thoughts on
Ritz, W, Westin, Roosevelt Astoria, royal Sonesta?
We are using points so are flex on price somewhat so just want to stay in a nice place.

The Royal Sonesta is still a great place to stay, and I would say it's my favorite (I always get an interior room overlooking pool/courtyard -- that gives you the best of being on Bourbon Street, while being able to retreat somewhere calm and quiet).

The Monteleone was a bit tired last time we stayed there, but it has a great location on Royal Street, and a lively vibe.

The Ritz is very comfortable, but just a tad stuffy. But I love the courtyard bar, which is alone almost good enough reason to stay there.

The Roosevelt is stunning; have only had drinks and dinner there, as it's usually pricier than my willingness to pay.

I really liked the Pere Marquette (it's a Marriott Renaissance property); it's a few blocks from the FQ, but the stylish feeling makes up for the distance. If you are looking at Marriott properties, the JW Marriott on Canal Street is very nice as well.
