We stayed at Elysian Fields Inn for our stay in July. Excellent location. Walked everywhere in the French Quarter and spent most of our evenings on Frenchmen Street which is only a couple of block away.
Couldn't have been happier with our stay and I would highly recommend it to anyone. You can read some reviews about them at www.tripadvisor.com. That's where I found them.

We stayed at La Maison Marigny in April. It's on Bourbon, but across Esplanade and very quiet. But, very easy walk to all the French Quarter has to offer. Great hosts as well. Jean

There are several B&Bs which get great reviews on tripadvisor so you can't really go wrong with any of them. Locationwise, I'd probably recommend La Maison Marigny, followed by Elysian Fields and B/W Courtyards. The #1-rated B&B, Ashton's, is a little too far from the FQ for my tastes.

I tried to post a reply to this thread earlier but it got eaten by Fodors' gremlins. I highly recommend La Maison Marigny and B&W Courtyards. You can get more reviews on both by doing a back search of this board and checking tripadvisor, too.
