New Jersey Shore - Neptune
There is a family event in Neptune over July 14 weekend. I am looking for a reasonably priced hotel. I may be willing to pay a little more on the beach (under $200 for sure - any special deal appreciated). There are just too many choices. Any help - those out there who have first hand knowledge? Right now we are booked for the Residence Marriott for over $300pnight but it is nothing special, just the rest of the family is staying there. I would opt to stay elsewhere. Thanks.

Greetings! I grew up in Neptune and lived there until age 22. And my parents still live there so I know the area intimately.
In my humble opinion, you need to find a hotel or bed & breakfast in Ocean Grove. Ocean Grove is a part of Neptune Township and is the most amazing, charming beach village. You should hurry because rooms book up fast.
Good luck!

We're in Ocean Grove right now, across from the beach and loving it. We ended up at Shamont on Ocean Ave and spent today at Bradley Beach, morning walk across the street from where we are staying and last evening in Asbury Park. We got lucky with the weather and last minute reservations and are sure to come back.
