New Ideas for Orlando !!!

Have been to Disney for past four years. We have done all major attractions. Going back soon anyone recommend an attraction further afield from Orlando area. Have done Kennedy, Busch and coasts.Four ''Kids'' 19,17,10 & 8. Thanks in anticipation . Maureen

Why so you keep going back there, when you are running out of things to do? There are lots of other great places to go!

I'm sure you have been there, but what about staying at the new Hard Rock Hotel and doing Universal?? From the reviews, I can't wait to go!

As someone who lives in Orlando, I also have to ask, "Why do you keep coming back here if you've done all the attractions?" Just curious - I'd move out of this town in a second if I could! (Just wait till the youngest finishes high school!)

Gioven the age spread of your kids, irt could be hard to find one "attraction" that will keep them all interested. I would suggest getting to know another part of Florida by renting a houseboat and cruising the St.Johns River. You can rent a house boat that will comfortably hold your family in DeLand, between Orlando & Daytona Beach. One place that rents is Hontoon Landing (www.hontoon.com). It will be a different, and memorable experience.

Have you spent time experiencing nightlife away from the theme parks? Cirque du Solei is wonderfull, and is located at downtown disney, full of other interesting entertainment such as DisneyQuest, a virtual playground of sorts. Also keep in mind some of the dinner shows. My favorite is the Sleuth's mystery dinner theater, located near Universal. It provides a entertaining caper, as well as pop culture jokes I am sure the kids will enjoy.

I prefer Murder Watch Mystery Theatre at the Grosvenor. Musical/comedy/mystery - and family oriented. Also a great buffet dinner with prime rib, pastas, popovers etc, and separate kids buffet and dessert buffet.
The above show is on Saturday nights. On Wed they do a dinner theatre that's a game show for real prizes!

Have you been to Universal and Islands of Adventure? Your kids would LOVE it. Islands of Adventure has some GREAT roller coasters and the theming at both parks is wonderful.

Have you been to Discovery Cove. My family loved it. It is a lot more affordable if all of you don't swim with the dolpins.

Go to some of the nearby Florida State Parks - check out the website at http://www.abfla.com/parks/ We have been to Blue Springs State Park, north of Orlando, and also to Washington Oaks State Park off highway one north of Daytona. There are lots of parks with swimming, hiking, other attractions.
Also the city of Winter Park, north of Orlando, is very nice with free sculpture museum, art museum, take a pontoon boat tour of lovely homes seen from the lake, check out the unique shops. We spent a day there our last trip and enjoyed it very much. Their web site is http://www.ci.winter-park.fl.us/
