New Hawaii countdown for 2014-15
Aloha -- I think it's time to start a new Hawaii countdown for all us Hawaii lovers since it is beginning to be winter on the mainland USA (we had a little snow yesterday).
I'll start-DH and I will be waking up in our lovely south Kona rental TWO weeks from today. I'm already dreaming of sitting on the lanai, drinking Kona coffee and waiting for the sun to crest Mauna Loa and light Kealakekua Bay below us.
We'll have 10 wonderful days of relaxing, snorkeling, reading, visiting with friends (I may do a pupu party one evening--poke and margaritas anyone), sitting on the beach enjoying the crystal blue water with the flash of yellow tang in the waves, harvesting and enjoying lilikoi. And, of course, the best laulau and lomi salmon in the islands at Super J's.
So if you've been many times or it was be your first time-let's hear from you.
Hawaiian Islands no ka 'oi!!

131 days, but who's counting?
I am!
Only the flights have been booked (flying on points, very fortunate that we got that booked), and then only because Air Canada launched Rouge, a new 'economy' service. Non-stop from Toronto - that will be nice.
Flying to and from Oahu, 17 nights. Probably spend a week on Maui.
Can't wait!

I can't stop thinking about Hawaii lately. It has been almost 3 1/2 years since we were on Kauai. Probably won't get a chance to go back until 2016. Aaarghhhh! I know everyone will have a great time. Report back as I'll be living vicariously through you.

106 Days for us until my birthday week in Kauai!
I also got our flights on points on Hawaiian Air, straight from JFK to HNL then inter-island onto LIH.
It's only my 2nd time to Kauai and cannot wait!

We were in Haena for 10 days in September, Louis, otherwise we'd probably be headed to Kaua'i too.
Big Island isn't the usual choice for a first-timer, lynni. Quite a contrast to the other islands, especially if you're along the Kohala Coast. But IMO, that's where the best beaches and snorkeling in all the islands are too.

Leaving in about 140 days for 2 nights in Honolulu and 12 nights on Kauai. We were supposed to go last month but had to cancel. So I'm really looking forward to finally going. The thought of it will get me through winter.

lynni, we went to the Big Island on our first trip to Hawaii in 2000 and loved it. We've been back many times since then--so if you have any questions as you plan, I'd be happy to try to help. Plus there are others on this board who know lots about the BI.

Yikes, it is 4 degrees F above 0 at our house this morning. I cannot wait to be waking up in south Kona ONE WEEK from today with the doors to the lanai open and the warm breeze wafting into the bedroom.
