New Harmony Inn Review

My husband and I stayed at the New Harmony Inn May 22, 2005 for 1 night. Check in was decent. They girls working at the registration desk didn't seem particularly welcoming to anyone checking in, nor were they rude.

We were assigned to "Dorm 2" which is located 2 buildings away from the Registration Building. The room and bathroom are kind of small, but livable for 2 people. Our room had a light colored wooden bedframe with a small table and chairs in the corner. There is an ironing board, 19 inch tv with a good selection of cable channels, plenty of towels in the bathroom, Bath & Body Works shampoo, soap and lotion and coffee maker.

We had dinner at the Red Geranium restaurant, which was rather nice for this small town in southern Indiana. We had breakfast at the hotel as well, which was an all you can eat buffet for $9.50. Service was extremely slow, but the food was good.

Checkout was standard. Again, the registration desk people were not enthusiastic when we checked out. No "thank you" or "come again". Since it was Sunday, many people were checking out. My check out clerk was standing with her eyes closed for about 2 minutes while her computer was busy.

Overall, the New Harmony Inn is your only choice in accomodation while visiting this historic town. This place is deal for couples looking for the romantic country weekend, if you like that sort of thing.

Feel free to email me at jamilaz@yahoo.com if you have any further questions on this property.
