Hi,
We plan on visiting the New England area on the week of Sept 20th. for 5 days.
Start and end point is Greenwich, Conn..
I know its a bit early for fall foliage still we are interested in that, as well as nice scenery,
quaint little towns, streams and lakes and if possible--wild coastal scenes.
The main purpose, though, is the foliage.
Any ideas on a route for 5 days ?

I grew up in CT, and unfortunately, I don't think you're going to see foliage that early. There might be some in far northern New England by then. Typically, even the White Mountains region in NH doesn't get much color until early October.

I haven't spent much time on the CT coast, so I can't really help with that.

Just realized you aren't limiting yourself to CT. For coastal scenery, you might check into Gloucester and Rockport in MA, and Cape Elizabeth and Ogunquit in Maine. (Read about Marginal Way in Ogunquit.) You could probably visit both areas in five days. You'd probably enjoy going further north in Maine, but I don't think you have enough time to go much further. Maybe the Rockland and Camden areas would be feasible.

As I said before, it will be too early for much foliage.
