NeoPatrick is coming to town--GTG on Dec 29 or 30?

I am happy to welcome our NeoPatrick to Texas!! He will be in San Antonio in late December and we are thinking of a GTG on either Dec 29 or Jan 30. Are there any Central Texas Fodorites who would like to join in the fun?

Have sent an email to the folks on our list from previous GTG's. If you did not receive it and are interested, see http://www.fodors.com/community/unit...an-antonio.cfm

This sounds like fun. I did book my flight from Houston to San Antonio for Monday, the 28th early afternoon. And will be flying home to Florida from SAT on New Year's Day.

I am so sorry we no longer live in the area, I would have loved to meet you Patrick. Enjoy a great trip!

Unfortunately, there is no way I can make it, either. I am SO bummed. Weekends are so much better for me to meet folk in S.A. since I live in DFW area.

Neo, I am sure the rest of the group will give you a nice, warm Texas welcome! Wish I could be there, too! DO please promise to come back some time soon!

Y'all have a great time!

Paula

Well, Sarge, we'll just have to do our own GTG sometime when I'm laid over at the DFW airport for a few hours. There is a TGIFridays. . .

Meanwhile, OO, are you seeing this? I've emailed you twice but haven't heard back, even when I replied to your email.

NeoP - OO is deluged with company for the week and warned that she would likely not be online much. Fret not, planning proceeds.

All is well, she emailed me this evening, seems I must have accidentally deleted her last reply. Looks like I'll now be staying at the Regency Hyatt on the RiverWalk -- not the Hyatt Place.

I'm so glad you are staying at the Riverwalk. It's good to have friends in Hyatt places.

We were in San Antonio last night for a high school football playoff game, and afterwards we walked over to the Riverwalk. Oh my, was it ever packed! Turns out it was the night they turn on the holiday lights and have a boat parade. Couldn't even get into a restaurant along the river, it was so crowded. But it sure was pretty!

I'm keeping posted on all the details for the GTG. Sure hope to make it!

So, any further news? Do we have a date and/or time and/or place yet?

Not yet - everybody was tied up with Thanksgiving so planning took a back seat to family festivities. Have been collecting suggestions, though, and will post more later this week.

THAT would be a blast.
We'll be there in "spirits".

Wish I could be there. It would be fun to see you, Patrick, and also all my Texas friends. I could also see my old stomping grounds when I attended Trinity U. Wow, that was so long ago. Still love SA, though.

paula - do you know that you can tune in online to Trinity's excellent radio station? They were the first academic station to go with high definition broadcasting and are a local treasure. www.krtu.org

Thanks, Seamus--I loved listening to the Trinity station. They play(ed) really great jazz during the weekend.
