My 60 something parents are taking a trip to Newport, RI this fall. They are looking for a seafood restaurant with a view. That shouldn't be too hard to find. They don't go for a "tavern" type atmosphere. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance for any responses.

I think you'll find you'll get better responses if you repost with "Newport, RI" as well as "need restaurant suggestion" in the title.
The Red Lobster has the 30 shrimp for $9.99 promotion going on now. I'm not sure if it will go on when they are going. If its your birday, they give you a free desert.
Why would someone want a desert for their birday?
You visit the desert, you can live in the desert, but you can't eat the desert. You eat a dessert.
It pays to listen in school.
We had lunch the day before yesterday at the Black Pearl on one of the central wharves. We sat outside (glorious day) and there were plenty of 50- and 60-somethings around us, despite the fact the bar was in full swing etc. The inside seating portion looked okay, too. The food was excellent.
Be prepared for an ultra tourist-density experience.
