Looking to take a fun weekend getaway with my s.o. on Sept 25th-26th. Somewhere with some nice fall scenery would be great... Light hiking/biking sounds cool or perhaps a fun festival.
Oktoberfest in La Crosse, WI caught my eye but it looks like every single hotel is already booked in the area. I'm debating if its possible to stay in a nearby town and go there for the day, or if there are any other similar destinations within reasonable driving distance from Chicago, I'd love to get any opinions!
Thanks
Need Idea's for Fall Weekend Trip From Chicago (La Crosse, WI?)

LaCrosse is a pretty long drive for a weekend. How about Galena, Milwaukee, Lake Geneva, or Madison?
Have you thought about the minneapolis area? check out the stillwater,mn. web site. There are state trails and parks nearby for walking and it is a pretty historic town. enjoy your trip, ziggypop
