Need help planning dinner for 16 in downtown Seattle

I am leaving for Seattle tomorrow night and need help finding a place for 16 professionals attending a conference to have a casual group dinner (not crazy expensive) at 8 p.m. Saturday night. I would like a fun local place with a view if possible and we are coming from Texas so a chance to have some seafood would be greatly appreciated. The place I thought I wanted to go will not push tables together for more than 4 people. We will be coming from the convention center so something not too terribly far would be great...within decent cab distance. Thanks in advance!

I'd reserve the Bayroom at Cutter's. It is semi-private and has a great water and waterfront view. Lots of nice seafood to choose from. I had the company holiday party there this year and they did a great job for us.

It's a large and somewhat tourist & business restaurant. That said, they can handle a party of 16 without melting down like could happen trying to squeeze into smaller restaurants.

Another place with great seafood and a view on the downtown waterfront is Anthony's, but it's a little further north.

Seafood.
Fun.
View.
Not crazy expensive.
Near Convention Center.
Wow!

Oceanaire meets all criteria except view.

Elliot's and the Waterfront on the waterfront and McCormick & Schmick's Harborside on Lake Union all have views and fish and are within a reasonable taxi ride.

Both are good choices. At Anthony's, you might look into the "Bell Street Diner", which is their moderate=price, more casual restaurant in the same building as Anthony's Pier 66:

Icon Grille has a stunning private dining room that seats 20 people. No view, but you can find them online to see what it's all about if you're interested.

You've gotten some great suggestions--if for some reason they don't pan out, the Dahlia Lounge has a private dining room that might work. No view, but they have great food and always have a couple of seafood dishes on the menu.

Also two possibilities on south Lake Union (both with banquet rooms with great views of the lake, houseboats, lights etc.) - Chandlers Crabhouse and Daniel's Broiler. Chandler's has excellent fish; Daniel's arguably the best steaks in town but also with plenty of red meat choices for non-fishy types.

Same ownership - http://www.schwartzbros.com/restaurants.cfm

Meant to say Daniels also has plenty of fish choices for non-meaty eaters.

I was just in Seattle last month with a group this size.

We ate at Six Seven Restaurant in the Hotel Edgewater. http://www.edgewaterhotel.com/defaul...ing_restaurant

The view was beautiful and the service was truly superb

Sorry, posted too soon!

Anyway, I can't say enough about the service and the atmosphere was very nice, very "lodge"y. I think our bill was about $1900 including gratuity for 15. We had tons of wine and apps as well so I thought it was reasonably priced.

Love Six Seven and the Hotel Edgewater, great suggestion. The Dahlia Lounge was also very nice for a meal. Another place we enjoyed was Salty's in Alki Beach, casual restaurant with beautiful views of Seattle from the dining room. ***kim***
