Need Clean & Reasonable Atlanta Airport Hotel
My husband will be taking the bar examination at the Georgia International Conference Center near the Atlanta Airport in February 2008.
I'm already looking for a nice, clean hotel where we can stay over 2 nights for the exam.
I'm really scared by the Trip Advisor reviews I've seen.
What would you recommend? I'd prefer to keep it under $125 a night, but it's more important to be clean, safe, and comfortable.
Thanks much!

I stayed at the Country Inn & Suites SOUTH almost a year ago for three nights on a girlfriends weekend. It was fine. Neighborhood is not scary. I would recommend it. (There is a NORTH airport Country Inn & Suites -- don't know about it.)

Stay at the Wyndham on 10th street in Midtown. It's a short MARTA ride and it's worth the piece of mind, especially if your husband is taking an exam. Great breakfast place across the street (flying biscuit), near Piedmont Park and lots of great restaurants in the area. I wouldn't stay in the airport area.

The Courtyard and Residence Inn off Virginia Avenue are clean and safe. You'll have to check the web site for the rates available for the nights you are there. I stay at both and have no concerns (other than the neighborhood).

Maybe try to get a four star Priceline room Atlanta Airport area. You could reserve another less expensive hotel that you could cancel, while you try for a Priceline room. If you have not used Priceline before, go to Biddingfortravel.com first to see what hotels usually come up and suggestions for bidding.
I think you would be most comfortable staying in a four star hotel in that area of the city.

If he's taking the bar, he should stay right near the conference center, because it is an early morning, and very long day, and you don't want to have to depend on MARTA --- especially because MARTA is sometimes late. I stayed down near the airport when I took the bar, but one of my friends stayed at her apartment, and she almost had a heart-attack driving down there because of a huge car accident, and she thought she was going to be late.
As far as airport hotels, I would stick with one of the hotels on Virginia --- Courtyard by Marriott or Westin. You can get pretty good deals on both. I stayed at some random hotel, and it was fine for two nights, but I wasn't really worried about
