Need an east coast vacay - family with 1 yr-old and pregnant mum!

Jump to last reply

I have posted similar messages before, but I am still stymied! I am looking to travel in mid to late July. Travelling will be my hubby, 15-month-old daughter and me--who will be five and a half months pregnant.

I know it'll be hot down south.... Still, we are torn between Myrtle Beach and Club Med Sandpiper, somewhere in Florida. Other past and present ideas include Gloucester, MA, somewhere along Jersey shores (my brother's family will be in Wildwood at the same time), and Cape Cod.

We need a place where there is enough to see and do for all three of us. We need places to go for early morning walks when our daughter wakes up at the crack of dawn for the day. Places where we can have access to food (for her and for me) no matter the time of day. Places to escape to if it gets too hot or too rainy. Would even consider somewhere close to good shopping centers.

Not looking for anything too kitsch, nor too pricey. A kid's pool and/or lazy river would be great. Preferably away from the Gulf and oil.

We are travelling from Montreal. Would drive as far as Jersey. Other than that, I think we'd have to fly.

Please help me decide! This is driving me nuts!
