And how old are the adults/stamina level?

As for hotels - what is your price range?

Already having a car will mean staying off Disney will be much cheaper than on - but what level of accommodation do you want - basic? moderate?

We stayed at a house from VRBO.com that had 4 bedrooms, a pool, and was 15 minutes from door to the parks. It was $900 for the week.
I would say you need at least 4 days to really see all of the Disney parks. You won't be able to see everything in 4 days, but you'll see a lot. A week would be ideal.

Just the Disney parks and age around 25+.
I've checked some of the houses, on tripadviors.com and the cheapest is around 600/ week with 3 bedrooms, so I think I am aiming for that, of cause if there is any cheaper place I would love to know. Since it requiry a least a week rental, I think we might try 7 days for now. But still would like to have some more advice. Thank you.

If this is your first trip and you want to focus on Disney I recommend 2 days at Magic Kingdom. You will be able to go at a slower pace and see most of the attractions and rides. One day each at the other parks is fine unless you are purchasing a 6 day pass (such as from Undercovertourist.com) and want to use that last day at the park you found the most interesting.

There is also Downtown Disney for shopping and eating. As a budget traveler I think the prices are a bit high and we only go to check out the giant World of Disney store.

If you want to go the condo/house route try Windsor Hills. I haven't stayed yet but my family is researching it for an upcoming trip and it gets excellent reviews on TripAdvisor and Dis Boards.

May is a great time to go. School breaks are over nationwide so the parks are usually relatively empty especially midweek.

One issue you're going to want to consider is the cost of a ticket. Assuming you get a 4 day adult ticket, the cost per day is $56.25 or $225. A 3 day ticket is $73 or $219 per day.

Adding the Park Hopper option - which lets you visit more than one park per day - increases the cost by about $50 for a 4 and 4 day.

So really the issue is not just how many days - but whether or not you want to visit each park. If so, then your best bet is a 4 day ticket no Park Hopper. Essentially, take your park and stick to it for that day.

But, if you want some flexibility and the cost isn't an issue, you probably could manage a three day ticket. I'd visit the Magic Kingdom 1 day and EPCOT by themselves. Animal Kingdom usually close by 6 p.m. and Disney Hollywood studios could easily be seen by 3:30 if you had a full day there.

I might suggest that you consider their water parks. Typhoon Lagoon would be great with a limited crowd. But, I don't think I'd pay the extra cost for the waterpark option.
