nbc studio tour - new york
I will be in New York at the end of January and I'm considering taking the NBC studio tour and Rockefeller Center tour. I will be purchasing the tickets from the NBC website (maybe the only way?) All I probably have to do is just enjoy the tour but any tips or suggestions that can be offered in regards to this are appreciated.

I took the tour many years ago and it was very enjoyable. I was able to buy the tickets at the front desk that day, but that was in the days before internet. If you are lucky, you will be able to see SNL rehearsing and talk radio DJ's live on air.

I've taken the NBC tour twice, most recently in 2002. Both times tickets were purchased at the desk day of, and I found the tour very enjoyable. On the first tour, Florence Henderson waved at us as we walked by her dressing room (she was on that "Later Today" show at the time), and we also saw a few other NBC personalities I can't recall now. On the second tour, we spent several minutes watching the cast of SNL rehearsing. It's also interesting to see the various studios and the page who is your tour guide may have some interesting stories. Definitely worthwhile!

How much time do you have in NYC and have you been here before?
The NBC tour gets very mixed reviews - and unless you have a lot of time - or for some reason are mad for tv studios - I wouldn't bother.
