We want to drive down part of the Natchez Trace and spend a few days in Vicksburg. Any advice would be appreciated. I am really interested in seeing the azaleas in bloom, so are they blooming yet on the trail (wild azaleas) or in the towns?

not in mississippie but similar location. Azaleas just starting to bloom. I would imagine they will be hitting their peak sunday into next week. I don't know about wild/native azaleas though.
Whoops. I realize this is late, but for future reference - yep, azaleas start blooming in Mississippi in early April. It varies a bit from year to year, depending on the weather, but early-mid April is usually a sure bet.
