Nashville restaurant

On one of our Nashville days, we're going to Belle Meade in the afternoon (it closes at 5)and Cheekwood in the evening (it's open 'til 10 for Chihuly nights). Since they're close to each other, we thought we'd have an early dinner in that neighborhood in between visiting those two places. Any recommendations? We like neighborhood ethnic spots more than fancy blow-out dinners, and my husband will be wearing jeans. Thanks!

I'd suggest "Sylvan Park" restaurant -- in the Sylvan Park area. It's not more than 5 or 10 minutes from Belle Meade. It's an authentic, unique Nashville experience--a "meat & 3." It's cheap and fast -- and be sure to leave room for their famous dessert.

Chihuly at night was FANTASTIC! Be sure to check out the video that is part of the exhibit.

Thank you, Songdoc--that's exactly the type of info I was looking for. We're very excited about the Chihuly exhibits--this is the second time we've stumbled across his work on a vacation.

You're welcome. If it works out time wise try to get to Cheekwood while it's still light out. The exhibit is a very different experience in daylight.

We arrived while there was still about an hour of sunlight -- took a quick look; went into the museum -- and then came out to see the exhibit at night -- which was magical.

By the way, the restaurant is on Murphy Road. (There's another branch but it's farther away.)

I mapquested the route, and Belle Meade to Sylvan Park to Cheekwood is about 20 minutes total--perfect!
