Hi,
I only have two nights and one full day in Nashville. I am trying to decide where to stay. Below are some options I have found and the prices during the days I am looking to stay. I would love some advice to see if it is really worth almost $100 more dollars in some cases to stay closer to 4th and Broadway. I would like to be able to walk everywhere if possible and save money on not needing a cab.
Embassy Suites near Vanderbilt - $342.18
Hotel Indigo Nashville 301 Union Street hotelindigo.com - $359.98
Hilton Double Tree 315 4th Avenue North - placesdoubletree.com - $452.23
Courtyard Marriott Downtown 170 4th Ave marriott.com- $489
Hilton Nashville Downtown - 121 4th Avenue South - couldn't get in for price -
Closer to Broadway - a couple of blocks down from 4th
Renascence Nashville Downtown- 611 Commerce Street- $417.60
Nashville Hotel in walking distance of tourist attractions

Although it isn't on your list, we found the location of the Best Western to be very convenient. The hotel is nothing special, but the staff are fabulous. We walked to all the DT sights.
It all depends on how close "walking distance" is to you. For example, I'd be fine at the Indigo, but it's at the north end of downtown near the courthouse, so it's a few minutes' walk to Lower Broadway.
Definitely not the Embassy Suites if you want to walk - the Vandy area is very close by car but would be a long, traffic-filled walk to downtown.
I can't believe Nashville hotels are that expensive, though! (I live here, so I never stay in them.) When are you coming?
Is this the Best Western you stayed at?
BEST WESTERN
Downtown Convention Center
711 Union Street,
Nashville, TN, US
We are planning on December - but we are trying to avoid the holidays
This is the other Best Western that seems to be closer to lower Broadway
Best Western Plus Music Row
1407 Division Street, Nashville, TN 37203
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express, 920 Broadway. It was directly across the street from the Union Station Hotel and maybe 5 blocks from the "District." We thought it was a good value and close enough to everything we wanted to see.
And Nashville hotels are expensive IMO, especially when you add the cost of parking.
If you're trying to be near the downtown bars/honky-tonks, CMHOF, etc, you don't want a Music Row hotel - you'd want the first one you posted, near the convention center. Music Row is separated from downtown by the interstate and train tracks in what is now the Gulch area. Lower Broadway is the 6-7 blocks of Broadway closest to the river.
Thanks this is very helpful!
The Best Western Convention Center was only $129 per night - it doesn't seem as close as the Indigo but it is much less money.
I also have been now looking into the Hampton Inn - this is almost the same price as the Hotel Indigo, but it seems to be closer and offers breakfast (although I have heard of so many great places to eat in Nashville I am not sure I want to waist a meal at the hotel, even if it does come with the room)
You'd be fine with any of those locations. I'd probably go with somewhere north of Broadway if all else was equal, but the Hampton would be fine too.
We stayed at the BW on Union.
Topping.
Going for long weekend, what are good options close to Ryman? Hoping to walk.
Nashville is pricy for certain.
Is Union Station worth it for the price? Parking and internet charges make it so expensive.
Pretty much anywhere downtown would be fine from a location standpoint - you want to be south of the Capitol, north of Demonbreun, and Union Station is as far west as I'd go. Any of those would be walkable to the Ryman, the CMHOF, and the honky-tonks. I live here, so I can't really recommend specifics.
Most of the downtown options are pretty generic (Holiday Inn, Hampton, Hilton, etc), so if you want something special, Union Station or the Hermitage might be worth it. But I think it's really personal preference.
Thanks for posting. Rates are higher and hotels are full because of the Liberty Bowl weekend we are coming.
We are wanting to go into Brentwood for church on Sunday. Can't decide if I should move hotels. Much cheaper rate there with parking and free internet.
The Liberty Bowl? That's in Memphis, not Nashville - I'm not sure why it would affect hotel rates here!
Brentwood is a 20-minute drive to downtown outside of rush hour. Not worth it to change hotels. If it's that much cheaper, you could just stay in Brentwood and drive to the tourist stuff (just remember you'll have to pay to park downtown). Brentwood has a few hotels in the Maryland Farms area (west of I-65) and a few just east of I-65 by the Target.
Ooops, a friend told me that and I didn't look up.
It is a good bit cheaper times 2 nights. Rooms are all over $200 night so pricy.
Good to know 20 minute drive thanks!
Brentwood is really close to Franklin, and in Franklin is a brand new Drury Plaza Hotel that is outstanding. Read the tripadvisor reviews about it! If you can get the Marriott across from Centennial Park, they have a shuttle to the surrounding areas.
Thanks looking up now!
