Nashiville & Transportation Help

Hi There All, I am hoping that maybe someone can help me out.

I am going to be in Nashville for a Conference at the Nashville Downtown Convention. Since I am a last minute replacement all the hotels in the surrounding areas have been booked. The ones that aren't booked are a bit pricey for what I need.

I got a room near the airport at La Quinta (the one on Donelson Pike). Hopefully I didn't make too bad of a choice.

What I would like to know from this location will it be hard to get a taxi to and from the convention center? I do not want to rent a car since I don't think I will have any time except for one day and I plan on taking an organized day tour that will pick me up at the hotel.

Please let me know your thoughts. I appreciate any help you can give me. Also has anyone had ever participated in a music city tour?

Thanks in advance.

I apologize for the mispelling of Nashville in the title...typed too quickly.

It shouldn't be too difficult since you are by the airport. There might even be a shuttle. I would just call the hotel directly and ask them.

The hotel will be able to get you a cab quickly for the convention center. If you are not at rush hour, about 15 minutes to downtown from Donelson. Did you check to see if any of the West End hotels are possible? Only 5 minutes away, and the Vanderbilt area has a lot of restaurant possibilities. There is a Hampton, Courtyard, and Holiday Inn Select all near downtown on West End.

Ditto Stumpworks. Check out the hotels in the Vanderbilt area. In addition to the ones listed, there is an Embassy Suites on Broadway. Just got back from there and it was perfectly fine. An easy shot to downtown and the Embassy Suites has a shuttle that might take you for free.
