Napa/Sonoma - Priceline

I'm trying to use Priceline to book a hotel in Napa/Sonoma for 5 days the week prior to Memorial Day. I have been unsuccessful with bids up to $95 for 3* and 4*. Is this just a very busy time period or am I too early? Any suggestions?

Probably a combination of the two...

but inventory changes ALL the time, so i would just keep trying. Might also be a good idea to book a cancellable back-up at this point "just to make sure".

I do not beleive that is a busy time. In fact, it's a down time for airlines and cruises because it's after Spring break, but before kids get out of school. I would keep at it.

May in the NS valleys is a VERY busy time==never figured out why. "Before summer rush" ??Vineyards are beautiful lots of spring flowers and no dead brown grass. Thought about a B & B ????
Check out www.napavalley.com
Also try hotwire.
Good luck

Are you trying to book a combination of weekdays and weekend days? You might try splitting it up and see if you can get acceptance for a lower amount on the weeknights. Have a look at biddingfortravel.com for a list of hotels that priceline uses and more helpful hints.

In Sonoma you could get the Renaissance Lodge at Sonoma, which is a three-star and very nice. Many posters at biddingfortravel.com have gotten rooms there for around $90.

It might also be a bit soon. Usually you will have better luck less than 30 days in advance. The idea to make a cancellable reservation somewhere in the meantime is a good one.

Thanks for the help. I will keep trying Priceline and I will book a cancellable backup. Our stay is from Monday through Saturday abd I know PLine may have a problem with this but I don't want to change hotels.
