N. Conway, NH B&B Needed

I was trying to plan a weekend in August for my boyfriend's birthday. I was thinking we could drive up to the North Conway, NH area seeing as it isn't that far of a drive, and there is a lot do in the area for the weekend.

Any advice for a nice Bed & Breakfast? Looking for nice location, scenic, great breakfast and hopefully maybe a jacuzzi tub or pool outside.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Rachpilaw,
I go every year to North Conway for a girls' weekend shopping trip in October. We always rent a condo at Stonehurst Manor. The Manor also has rooms, which look a little like a B&B, and a lovely lounge area and restaurant in the lobby. We have never eaten at the restaurant but it is always packed on the weekend and I've heard it is very good. I believe there is a pool and a hot tub (outside) but we have never used as it's a little too chilly when we are there. The Manor is secluded from the hustle and bustle and is gorgeous, but yet just a short drive to pretty much anywhere you'd want to go. There is a hillside by the main building with a gorgeous view of the White Mountains. They usually have chairs set up so I can imagine that August would be perfect weather to just hang out and enjoy the view. Not to mention, there's great shopping and if you go you must try Bellini's for dinner. It is too die for, if you like Italian. The main street in Conway is very quaint with some great shops.

As I mentioned, we always go for a girl's weekend, but I am dying to take my boyfriend and stay in one of their rooms. It just has a romantic feel to it. Check the website out and good luck.

We stay in the Town of Jackson, NH. It's a 10 minute drive from North Conway - off Rt 16 - just past Storyland under the covered bridge.

The town is very quaint & romantic. We stay at the Wentworth http://thewentworth.com/.

Beautiful rooms, great dinners, cute bar (about 6 seats). They also have townhouses available if you wanted a kitchen. I believe many of the rooms have jacuzzi tubs and 4 of the rooms are in a building that share a jacuzzi. We stay in a Townhouse (which has a jacuzzi tub & fireplace)

It's on a golf course (which become 80 miles of cross country ski trails in the winter), within a few minutes walking distance of Jackson Falls (people sit on the rocks and walk thru the water in summer), there are a few cute shops, Nestlenook Farm (Horse Drawn Carriage rides, Picturesue ice skating in winter), a bakery/sandwich shop that you can walk to, a cute church, library & the town holds lots of activities - it's a very small town, quaint, romantic feel without all the traffic in Conway.

See http://www.mountainear.com/ for this week's activities.

You are close to Storyland (5 minutes), Attitash skiing & Alpine Slide (8 minutes), Mount Washington Auto Road (10 minutes), Conway outlet shopping (10 minutes) - lots of hiking, and...

Lots of great food!! We like the Shannon Door Pub within walking distance of the Wentworth (Irish bands - good Pizza), Wildcat Tavern (also within walking distance, romantic) 1785 Inn (upscale & romantic in Intervale), The Toasted Lab (our favorite! - in North Conway), Horsefeathers (North Conway), Bellini's (Italian in North Conway), Tuckerman's Tavern (in Intervale).

There is also the Snowvillage Inn in nearby Snowville (www.snowvillageinn.com). Yankee Magazine called it the "perfect" New England Inn. The views from the dining room is unbeatable (great views from some guest rooms as well).
You are close enough to enjoy the shopping and other activities in North Conway, but a world away from the traffic and hubbub. There might be a hot tub but I don't think there's a pool. However, there is a small lake with a sandy beach just down the road.

We just loved the Farm by the River; it's in North Conway, but on a road that is parallel to the one that all the shopping is on -- you'd never dream that you were in the same town. They do have at least one room with a big jacuzzi.

It has been years since I have been to New Hampshire but when we did go, we stayed in a B&B called the Christmas Farm Inn. I don't even know if it still exsists because it's been about 10 years since we have been there but the only reason I mention it because it was one of my most favorite places. I think it was in Jackson and was not far from North Conway. This B&B has excellent food and also dinner which was included in our rate. Hope it's still around because you will not be disappointed.

We've stayed at the Darby Field Inn and Restaurant. It's about 10 minutes outside of N. Conway. A bit in the country in a beautiful setting. Views of mountains outside your window if you get the right room. Nice little restaurant. I believe they have the amenities you seek.

We just spent the weekend at the Darby Field Inn. Wonderful! The rooms are very nice and the food was excellent. The staff is delightful and everything was just perfect for our get-away. We even saw a bear eating berries on the side of the Kancamagus! They offer horse and carriage rides, along with hiking trails and a nice pool area. I highly recommend this B&B.
